Dear Ms. Cavalcanti: It's hard to fill up the activities calendar, isn't it? Most entertainment destinations today aren't appropriate for church groups, seniors or families: They're too noisy, too chaotic, too violent or suggestive. And the places that do try to serve your needs often provide entertainment that's, well, not so entertaining. At the Silver Spur Theatre, we do things differently. Our weekend program is a mix of classic silent movies and live, family-friendly vaudeville that's a good time for everyone from toddlers to seniors. Our shows are nostalgic, educational, and just plain fun. They're never the same twice. We offer singing and dancing, clowning and jokes, magic, acrobatics and surprises. Our performers are accomplished professionals who have entertained with Tammy Wynette and Barnum & Bailey, played in symphonies nationwide, and appeared in blockbusters like How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Our guest artists have devoted years of training to entertainment, from “barbershop” singing to juggling and tightrope-walking. A show at the Silver Spur is warm and welcoming - your clients may enter as strangers, but they'll leave as friends. That's because our air-conditioned theater is intimate (just 150 seats!) and our shows are interactive: We encourage audience participation, and love to get folks singing, answering from the audience, or even up on stage with us.
